The City of Escondido is committed to reducing the spread of COVID-19 and protecting the safety of employees and customers.  City Hall has reopened with the modifications below.  Both walk-ins and appointments are welcome.

Starting on August 10, 2020: Hours of operation are Monday (including phones) - Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • Facial coverings are required at all times.
  • Bring your own material and supplies.
  • Visitors are encouraged to show up individually to conduct business instead of sending a whole development project team, for example.
  • People will be admitted incrementally to City service counters (e.g. one customer at a time).
  • We also encourage the public to conduct business remotely so that you can receive City feedback from the comfort of your own home or office.  Although we strive to return calls and emails on the same day, due to the high volume of inquiries you may experience a slight delay.  However, we strive to respond within 24 hours.
  • At this time we are experiencing a high volume permit requests.  Due to this volume some building services are experiencing delays, of up to two additional weeks for plan check review.  We apologize for any inconvenience.

Inspection requests received by 3 p.m. on any business day will be scheduled for the next business day. Inspection requests received after 3 p.m. will be scheduled in two business days. Please call us at 760-839-4646 to request your inspection. For an inspection time window for an inspection that is already scheduled, please call (760) 839-4647 and press “0” any time after 8:30 a.m. on the morning of your inspection.
