The Public Works Department is comprised of two divisions: Maintenance and Operations. These divisions work together to enhance and maintain public parks, streets and facilities. Graffiti removal, street sweeping, and tree care are part of a beautiful Escondido. The Department also maintains an active forum encouraging community involvement in recycling and composting education.

Building Maintenance keeps our city-owned buildings and facilities in repair.

Fleet Services purchases and maintains city vehicles and equipment.

Recycling and Waste Reduction runs city programs to promote and facilitate a clean Escondido.

As part of the Public Works Department, Maintenance covers a wide range of areas such as building maintenance and facility repair for City facilities, City fleet services, and recycling.

Parks and Open Space includes tree care and landscaping, including turf, irrigation and public lighting.

Streets keeps our city moving by maintaining asphalt, storm drains, sidewalks and more.
