Tina’s family came to Escondido following her father’s retirement from his long career in the United States Air Force. She was blessed as a child to live in numerous states across our beautiful country and several foreign lands including Japan and Spain. Tina especially loved living in Spain where she was able to acquire a second language – Spanish. She and her four siblings are proud graduates of Escondido High School. Tina attended Palomar College focusing on language and theater arts. In her teens, Tina was honored to be chosen as Escondido’s Jr. Miss, and in later years she was honored to portray the Indian Princess Felicita in 2 revivals of the Felicita Pageant, a story well-known to Escondido history buffs.  From that time on she was drawn to community service and has remained involved in the community over the years.

When the City of Escondido began exploring the possibility of building a world-class arts center next to City Hall, she was keenly interested to learn more about this amazing possibility. Tina is proud to have been among the first employees of the California Center for the Arts, Escondido where she served in many roles over a 25-year span including the positions of Director of Annual Giving, Director of Individual/Major Giving & Special Events, and Director of Community Affairs.  She also served at the Escondido Chamber of Commerce as Membership Executive from 2018 to March of 2020. Building and retaining strong long-lasting donor and business relationships has been a hallmark of her development career.

In the community, Tina enjoyed her time as a member of the Escondido Rotary club serving as chair of the Scholarship Committee and on the Coeur de Cuisine annual fundraiser committee. She also served for several years on the Board of the Escondido Education Compact an organization that does amazing works for our most at-risk youth.  Tina was proud to serve on the board of the North County Philanthropy Council and is a past president of that organization as well the Escondido Community Foundation from 2016 – 2019.   Tina most recently served as a Board member of the Palomar Health Foundation and participated on the PH Community Relations Committee and other foundation related committees.

Tina’s husband of 14 years is Steve an Instructional Designer and professionally trained musician. Together they have three children, Tina’s daughter Brooke, Steve’s son Alex and daughter Stephanie and three grandchildren.
