Escondido, CA – Escondido Public Library announces the new 2014-15 2nd Saturday Concert Series with a full schedule of performances by professional musicians ranging from classical to bluegrass to jazz. The free concerts are held monthly at 3:00 p.m. in the Library’s Turrentine Room and run from November 2014 through May 2015.

February 14, 2015 Virtual Strangers Bluegrass Band
March 14, 2015 Danny Green Jazz Trio
April 11, 2015 Kensington Trio Chamber Music
May 9, 2015 Besos de Coco Chamber Music
The series opens with renowned classical guitarist Peter Fletcher on November 8, 2014. The FanFaire Foundation’s Young Artist Concert in December presents piano and cello protégés, ages 9 to 15, with performances and talent will beyond their years.
Opera Exposed! returns by popular demand in January 2015. This program, just in time for opera season, features aspiring university singers with San Diego Opera Director of Education, Dr. Nicolas Reveles on piano. Dr. Reveles provides narration and insight surrounding the selections to reveal the incredible storytelling qualities of the great moments in opera.
The line-up of programs also features Virtual Strangers bluegrass concert and the return of favorite groups, Kensington Trio playing chamber music with piano, cello and violin, and the Danny Green Jazz Trio. Besos de Coco brings the season to a close with a unique chamber concert with classical guitar, double bass and tap.
