The Escondido City Council is seeking applicants for the Library Board of Trustees, the Community Services Commission and the Personnel Board of Review due to recent vacancies.  The term of office for the Library Board of Trustees will expire on March 31, 2017, while the terms of office for both the Community Services Commission and the Personnel Board of Review will expire on March 31, 2016. 

Appointed by the City Council, the five-member Library Board of Trustees meets on the second Thursday of every month at 4:00 p.m. Each member serves a term of three years. The Library Board of Trustees oversees library services and advises the City Council and the City Librarian on the development of plans, policies and programs that are responsive to the community needs and desires. 

The nine-member Community Services Commission meets quarterly, on the fourth Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m.  Each member serves a term of four years.  Appointed by the City Council, the Commission acts in an advisory capacity to the Council, Community Services Director and School Districts in matters pertaining to community recreation programs and development, park areas and facilities, community beautification projects and any other community service as determined by the Commission, City Council, or staff. 

Also appointed by the City Council, the seven-member Personnel Board of Review meets on an as-needed basis. Each member serves a term of four years. The Personnel Board of Review serves as an autonomous hearing body to review and issue findings regarding disciplinary actions being appealed by full-time, permanent, classified employees.
