ARTIFICIAL TURF The San Diego County Water Authority partners with artificial turf companies to provide customers with a discount on turf materials and installation from participating retailers. Participating companies include Artificial Turf Supply, and Athletic Turf Solutions. The program is open to residential, commercial and public sector property owners. No application is necessary. For Single-Family Customers – Free professional evaluations designed to assist customers with the identification of indoor and outdoor water savings opportunities. Technicians will:

  • Evaluate the performance of the site's irrigation system.
  • Provide a list of recommendations.
  • Provide a proposed watering schedule.

For Commercial and Multi-Family Customers – Free on-site evaluations of commercial, industrial, institutional and multi-family properties that will identify water-saving opportunities for the site. Property owners/managers can then decide if, when and how to implement the recommendations. At the appointment, technicians will:

  • Provide a list of recommendations.

SDCWA Sustainable Landscape Incentive Program The San Diego Sustainable Landscapes Program offers $1.75 per square foot for qualified applicants who replace water-intensive turf grass with landscaping that provides several environmental benefits. Eligible projects must include rainwater capture and detention, soil enhancements, climate-appropriate plants, water-efficient irrigation methods and are subject to site inspections.
