Open from sunrise to sunset, except for lighted ballfield that closes at or before 10:00 p.m.

Washington Park began as an 11-acre farm in 1913. The Escondido Valley Riders Association used the land for horse shows until the property was eventually sold to the City.

Washington Park Pool was dedicated on June 13, 1964, and is still heavily used by high school water polo and swim teams, a community competitive swim club, and the Recreation Division's Learn-to-Swim Program during the summer.

Park Features:

  • Washington Park Pool, a 25-yard swimming pool equipped with slide*
  • Small children's pool*
  • 1 lighted ballfield
  • 4 lighted tennis courts
  • 2 lighted basketball courts
  • 1,200 square-foot recreation building available on a reservation basis
  • Tiny tot play area / playground
  • Picnic areas with tables
  • Restrooms

NOTE: Leashed dogs are allowed but not permitted on sports fields.
