You won’t want to miss two special events offered by the Downtown Business Association this November:  

2015 Wedge Cheese Festival
November 7, from 1 to 5:00 p.m., Grand Avenue

Tasting stops consist of thirteen local downtown businesses hosting fine cheeses and a diverse selection of local and regional craft beers and boutique wines, along with eight Grand Ave restaurants offering cheese-forward samples of their delicious creations, plus great craft brews or wines. Your passport includes all the cheese and restaurant nibbles, and your choice of up to 15 beer and/or wine samplings. A $45 Wedge Tasting Passport gets you access to all 21 gourmet tasting stops. There is also a Designated Driver (DD) ticket that includes everything but alcoholic beverage tasting, for only $25.  Must be 21+ to purchase  a passport or DD ticket. In between tastings, enjoy live music from the Buskers performing along Grand Ave. At Heritage Garden (Juniper and Grand), there will be working artists, local dairy and agricultural exhibits, sources for locally-gown locally-produced goods, information on creating your own patch of healthy garden crops on your patio or porch, and more live music. Escondido Tamale Festival

The inaugural Escondido Tamale Festival is a celebration of Tamales and all the great Latin foods that have become iconic staples of California's culture.  Enjoy free admission, great food to purchase, entertainment, competitions and celebrity chefs. Don’t miss the chihuahua costume contest and fashion show!  An optional VIP Ticket is available which includes gourmet tamales tastings paired with Baja and California craft beers and wines, as well as access to shaded seating on the Train Depot at Grape Day Park.
