City of Escondido

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Contact: Robert Zaino, 760-839-4001

The City of Escondido will close a one block segment of Grand Avenue between Quince Street and Pine Street to traffic from April 26 until approximately June 7, 2011. The road closure is needed to accommodate the final improvements of the Mercado Project, including the lowering of the roadway by two feet, concrete work, curbs and cross gutters and pedestrian sidewalks.

In an effort to minimize the impact this will have on affected businesses, signs will be posted notifying the public that the businesses are open and also directing them to nearby parking.

Residents with questions or comments may contact the City of Escondido’s Field Engineering Office at 760-839-4664.
