Escondido, CA – Borrowing eBooks from Escondido Public Library is easier than ever, thanks to the availability of a new version of the OverDrive app for eReaders. OverDrive, the Library’s provider of digital eBook content, enables users to access eBooks and eAudiobooks on a wide variety of compatible tablets, phones, and computers. This updated app is available for iPad, iPhone, Android, Windows Phone, Windows 8, Kindle Fire HD, and Nook HD/HD+.

The OverDrive app simplifies and streamlines initial eBook OverDrive account registration. Current library eBook users who have an OverDrive Adobe ID or OverDrive account, should update to this new app to enjoy enhancements, including synching reading progress across multiple devices and saving libraries and common searches. The app supports all eBook formats, including Open EPUB titles and these can now be returned before their expiration date. These improvements make accessing Library eBooks an easy experience for all users.

Users can download the free OverDrive app (formerly known as OverDrive Media Console) from Google Play, iTunes, Amazon App Store, and the Windows Store.

Escondido Public Library has a great collection of free eBooks available for check-out. For more information about how to download and enjoy free eBooks or any other Library service, please contact Paul Crouthamel, Senior Librarian for Adult Services at 760-839-4814 or go to library.escondido.org. The Escondido Public Library is located at 239 South Kalmia Street, Escondido, CA  92025.
