Escondido, CA – The Pioneer Room, Escondido Public Library’s local history archive, is pleased to host “Home: A Living Archive”, a group exhibition of photographic works featuring learners from the Escondido Public Library’s Read. Succeed. Adult Literacy program. The exhibition opening will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Pioneer Room. Light refreshments will be served. Attendees must RSVP to Myrna Montano at 760-839-4831 by October 27, 2017.

Escondido’s Home: A Living Archive series highlights the experiences and activities of contemporary Escondido society. Deeply personal, introspective, and at times nostalgic, this exhibition explores the many interpretations of “home” represented through word and image. This inaugural installment aims to start conversations about origins, self-identity, and what it means to belong. Home: A Living Archive will be on view at the Pioneer Room from November 2, 2017 through February 1, 2018.

The exhibition is sponsored by the Friends of Literacy Services and the Pioneer Room Friends. Library programs are free and open to the public. For more information on this and other Library programs, visit the Library’s website at library.escondido.org or contact Adult Services Senior Librarian Viktor Sjöberg at 760-839-4814 or vsjoberg@escondido.org. Escondido Public Library’s Pioneer Room is located at 247 S. Kalmia St., Escondido, CA 92025.
