Escondido Rangers have delayed the opening day of the Lake Dixon trout season due to unseasonably warm weather. In order to guarantee a healthy stock of fish, water temperatures need to be below 70 degrees.  Currently, water temperatures are in the mid 70’s.

Rangers originally planned plan to stock Lake Dixon on October 29, 2014.  They now will hold off until Wednesday, November 5, 2014 just before the start of the Annual Lake Dixon Trout Derby, scheduled to begin on Saturday, November 8. The derby will run through Tuesday, November 11.

The public can contact Lake Dixon directly at (760) 839-4345 for up to the minute information.
