.

Felon in Possession of a Gun

On July 21, officers were in the area of East Washington Ave and Harding Street when they observed a bicyclist riding unsafe and when they tried to stop him, he took off. The officers discovered that he had a loaded firearm. He was arrested safely.

Did You Know? The patrol officers of the Escondido Police Department receive your phone calls about crimes and emergencies through their police radios, so we call them radio calls. When the officers are not responding to the community's requests and emergencies, they patrol the city. During this part of their day, they drive and walk around, talk to community members and look for violators and people that are wanted for various crimes.

Commercial Burglary

On July 22, a man smashed the glass doors of one of our local businesses and stole various items. Officers got into the area quickly and were able to find the suspect's vehicle leaving the parking lot. The man was arrested, and the items were returned to the business.
