Awards Ceremony: Wednesday, April 25, 4:30 p.m. Escondido City Council Chambers (replays Sunday, April 29 and Monday, April 30 at 6:00 p.m.)

Over 1800 Escondido students in grades K–8 from 27 different schools participated in this year’s Earth Day Poster Contest. Entries were split into three age groups for judging: K–2, 3–5, and 6–8. The top ten finalists in each age group were invited to a special Earth Day City Council Awards Ceremony on April 25 where the top three winners in each age group were announced by Mayor Sam Abed. The students’ families and teacher were also invited to the ceremony.

The top 30 posters will be on display at the San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum from May 1–May 27.
