City of Escondido Accepting Business Grant Program Applications

Escondido, CA The City of Escondido has partnered with the San Diego North Economic Development Council to administer the City’s Small Business Grant Program to support our local businesses. Applications will be available in English and Spanish at 9:00am on Friday, July 17 on the San Diego North Economic Development Council’s website:

Grant applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until August 28, 2020 or until funds are expended, whichever occurs first. Businesses are eligible for up to $15,000 in funding for capital costs, equipment and/or supplies designed to facilitate their COVID-19 business response, commercial rent payments, and payroll costs if they meet the following criteria:

  • - Located within the City of Escondido;
  • - Hold a valid business license;
  • - Have $1,000,000 or less in gross business revenue; and
  • - Are for-profit businesses including home-based and sole proprietorships.

The goal of this program is to support Escondido businesses that suffered a financial hardship due to the Coronavirus pandemic and related public health order closures, restrictions, and subsequent reopening guidelines. This grant program is consistent with the City’s comprehensive Business Recovery Strategy and is made possible by CARES Act funding provided by the County of San Diego.
