Cruisin’ Grand in Downtown Escondido
One of the greatest ongoing traditions in San Diego County, this free, family-friendly event features hundreds of 1973 and earlier American-made hot rods, customs, cruisers and more.

Escondido Out Front – Team Presentation Gala
Kick off the Amgen Tour of California in style at the opening gala. The gala features the official presentation of the teams, wine tasting, entertainment and a silent auction. This is a must attend event!

Cost: $125 per person; includes wine tasting, dinner, and VIP entrance to the after party
Amgen Kick-Off Party
Celebrate the beginning of an epic weekend in Escondido. For $20 you will enjoy DJ Captain Morgan spinning the latest hits, one complementary drink, delish snacks and get pumped for the race with our community!

L’Etape du California
L’Etape du California challenges riders of all abilities to complete a stage of the 2013 Amgen Tour of California. This ride provides amateur cyclists quite a unique experience, challenging participants to ride the overall start and Stage 1: the “Escondido out and back course.” The courses will be long and difficult but fully supported with fluids and nutrition. While many riders will be satisfied by merely finishing the route, others will be able to compete for the title of King and Queen of the Mountain on the timed climbs of the route.

Escondido Bike Safety Rodeo
Time: 8:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m.
Cost: Free
Join us in celebrating the return of the Amgen Tour of California as well as bike month by participating in this FREE children's bike safety rodeo. The US Army and Bike Bling have volunteered to ensure that our local youth have the proper equipment as well as the skills needed to ride safely. Kids from ages 5-12 are invited to participate in fun skills exercises, courses, and games. To take part in this event please be sure each child brings his or her own bike and helmet to 1315 East Valley Parkway (East Valley Parkway & Harding Street).

Honor Ride
The Amgen Tour of California has teamed up with Ride 2 Recovery to raise money for veterans through Honor Ride events in three of this year's host cities. Ride 2 Recovery's mission is to improve the health and wellness of healing heroes through mental and physical rehabilitation programs that feature cycling as the core activity. The funds raised through the Honor Ride Series support outdoor cycling programs and Spinning Recovery Labs at Military and VA locations around the country, as well as local rides for healing heroes.
The Escondido Course allows riders to cross the Amgen Tour of California finish line (limited to 200).
Each event offers two distances: approximately 20 and 60 miles. Participation is open to all ages, including veterans and the general public.

Jam in the Park
Find a spot and relax in Grape Day Park! The Amgen Jam will feature two live bands beginning with Dead Feather Moon at 11:30 a.m., followed by Sue Palmer and Her Motel Swing Orchestra at 1:30 p.m.
Dead Feather Moon is a San Diego-based band whose distinguished sound combines Rock with Alt-Country and Psychedelic Blues. Their heartfelt performances and rapidly growing fan base have established them as one of San Diego’s most sought-after musical acts.The band won “Best Alternative Album" at the 2012 San Diego Music Awards in August 2012.
Sue Palmer & Her Motel Swing Orchestra are renowned for their highly energetic shows and have received rave reviews for their live performances including Mammoth Jazz Festival, Ocean Beach Jazz Festival, La Jolla By the Sea Concerts, KSDS Jazz Radio 88.3 and many others. Her band plays a wonderful combination of swing, blues, New Orleans and boogie-woogie styles.
Mother's Day Home Tour
Enjoy this lovely opportunity to celebrate Mother's Day in a most charming and memorable way by touring several historic homes in the Old Escondido Historic District and enjoying lovely refreshments in a garden.
