Congratulation to Paul and Pamela Benold whose low-water-use landscape won this year's California Friendly Best-in-District Landscape contest!

He began his love for succulents in 1970. One of the main reasons Paul decided to incorporate succulents into his landscape was because he is out of town most of the time. Paul has moved a total of four times and with every move, he takes
his favorite succulents with him. Some even requiring a bobcat to transport them.

Paul and his wife have lived at their current residency for five years. They began their design by adding larger succulents first. They then fill in the bare areas with cutting from the bigger plants.

"A succulent garden in the ground of in a pots can easily become a hobby, as it is very rewarding and economical," Paul.
