SKATE PARK RALLY AT WASHINGTON PARK

Escondido, CA – The City of Escondido’s Community Services Department is hosting a community Skate Park Rally at Washington Park on Saturday, January 14, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The purpose of the event is to generate interest in and gather community input on a proposed skate plaza in the Park.

In addition to providing skate ramps for local skaters, at 11:00 and 12:00 professional skaters will provide demonstrations and tips to participants. Various skate vendors will be on hand with giveaways for the first 40 skate participants.

City staff seeks input from the local community and skaters on the desired types of skate plaza features as well as the pros and cons of providing a skate plaza in Washington Park. In addition to generating interest in the skate plaza, staff hopes to generate a list of community members who are willing to be involved in the project.

The Skate Park Rally is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the Community Services Department at 760.839.4691.
