2007 Awards


City of Escondido

  • 2006 Award for Workplace Excellence, presented by Peter Barron Stark & Associates, a San Diego based management consulting firm that administers employee opinion surveys, for exceeding an 80% overall favorable response on the 2006 Employee Opinion Survey.

Community Services Department – Recreation Division

The Recreation Division received three awards at the annual California Park and Recreation Society District XII Awards banquet:

  • Achievement in Facility Design – for the new skate park located at the Escondido Sports Center at Kit Carson Park.
  • A service award – honoring Recreation Coordinator Joel Agg for his service to the park and recreation society.
  • Outstanding part-time professional in San Diego County – for Julie Connor, a recreation leader who leads an after-school program at Conway School and works with the summer aquatics program.

Fire Department

  • Fire Station 3 – honored with a "Notable" Award for its design by Fire Chief Magazine. Fire Station 3 is located at 1808 Nutmeg Street.

Police Department

  • Officer Matt Dixon – named San Diego County Vehicle Theft Recovery Officer of the Year for 2006 by the Auto Theft Advisory Committee.
  • Detective Tim Reiley – named Law Enforcement Officer of the Year by the Scottish Rite Masons for his outstanding performance as a law enforcement professional.
