Escondido Hero Banner Program

The Escondido Hero banner program honors men and women who serve, or have served, in the U.S. Armed Forces, and First Responders by offering personalized banners that will be hung around downtown Escondido.

Banners include a photo of the hero, their name, and text that includes their branch/agency. They are on display from approximately Memorial Day (mid-May) to Veterans Day (mid-November) in Downtown Escondido along Valley Pkwy and 2nd Avenue.

Pricing for banners are as follows:

  • New banner (including display) - $200   (Deadline: March 15)
  • Existing banner - $50   (Deadline: April 30)

After submitting the form you will be directed to the City's payment site.

To purchase a new banner or to rehang an existing banner in 2024, this site will accept registration beginning February 1, 2024.

The location and details of each banner will also be available online. Through the Hometown Heroes web application, visitors will be able to search for a hero, locate them on the map, and to read the story behind the hero, as provide by the banner sponsor. The buttons below take you to the a web and mobile version of the application.
