Purpose
The Housing Advisory Commission is established to advise the Community Development Commission (CDC) on policies and programs for the purpose of improving and augmenting the City's low- and moderate-income housing stock. Subject to the Community Development Commission's direction, the Housing Advisory Commission may be formed as a 501(c) 3 corporation for the purpose of management and operation of CDC-funded affordable housing programs. Its goals include:
- Developing programs for low- and moderate-income housing in accordance with the priorities described in the Housing Element of the General Plan
- Reviewing development proposals for funding from 20% of the Community Development Commission's available tax increment and federal HOME funds
- Providing advice and assistance as required by the Community Development Commission and its housing staff
