Housing Advisory Commission


Purpose

The Housing Advisory Commission is established to advise the Community Development Commission (CDC) on policies and programs for the purpose of improving and augmenting the City's low- and moderate-income housing stock. Subject to the Community Development Commission's direction, the Housing Advisory Commission may be formed as a 501(c) 3 corporation for the purpose of management and operation of CDC-funded affordable housing programs. Its goals include:

  • Developing programs for low- and moderate-income housing in accordance with the priorities described in the Housing Element of the General Plan

  • Reviewing development proposals for funding from 20% of the Community Development Commission's available tax increment and federal HOME funds

  • Providing advice and assistance as required by the Community Development Commission and its housing staff
Membership: Seven members
Meeting Schedule: Third Monday of each month, 5:00 p.m.
Length of Term: Four years
Responsible Department: Housing Division, Housing & Neighborhood Services
Qualifications/Conditions: Must reside within the geographic boundaries of the General Plan
Compensation: None
Financial Disclosure: Must submit conflict of interest statements
Training: City staff provides an initial orientation and ethics training in accordance with state law.
