Purpose
The Community Services Commission acts in an advisory capacity to the Council, Community Services Director, and school districts in all matters pertaining to park use and development, public recreation, and the use of public park facilities by individuals and groups. This includes:
- Making recommendations regarding desirable contractual relations between the City and public schools and other agencies for use of buildings, playgrounds, and other recreational facilities
- Coordinating City involvement with community-based organizations such as civic societies, non-profit recreational providers, and similar organizations
- Participating actively in the interpretation of the department's services, objectives and needs, and informing the public of the City's programs
- Advising the Community Services Director, Director of Public Works, and the Assistant Director of Community Services on annual and capital improvement budgets

Nine members, one of which must be a nominee representative selected by the High School District Board of Trustees and a nominee representative selected by the Elementary School District Board of Trustees. |
