Community Safety Committee


Purpose

The Community Safety Committee evaluates the community needs for pedestrian safety-related improvements and provides funds. This includes:

  • Sidewalk improvement projects
  • Crossing guards (1st year)
  • Signage around schools
Membership: Eleven members. The committee consists of two members from the public, School District Representatives, and City staff.
Meeting Schedule: Fourth Thursday of every month
Length of Term: Four years (citizens-at-large)
Responsible Department: Public Works Department
Qualifications/Conditions: Public members must reside within the geographic boundaries of the General Plan; School District Representative and City staff exempted from resident requirement.
Compensation: None
Financial Disclosure: Must submit conflict of interest statements
Training: City staff provides an initial orientation and ethics training in accordance with state law.
