Plan Checking
The Escondido Fire Department Fire Prevention Division performs plan checking for:
  • New sprinkler systems.
  • Fire alarm systems.
  • Hood and duct systems.
  • Spray booths.
  • LPG tank installations.
  • Rincon del Diablo Fire District residential remodeling and improvement projects for county area projects.

Plans are checked as quickly as possible but may require a minimum of 21 working days. Notification will be made as soon as the plans are ready to be picked up.

LPG (Propane) tank installations require:

Rincon del Diablo Fire District remodeling and improvement projects require:

  • Two sets of plans that have been stamped by the County Building Department.
  • County Site Mitigation Letter.
  • Plan check fee made payable to the "Rincon del Diablo Water District" at 46¢ per square foot.
  • Applicant must then deliver Escondido Fire Department approved plans and signed Mitigation Letter to the County Building Department for payment of calculated site mitigation fees.
