Independence Day Celebration

Independence Day CelebrationEscondido's annual July 4th fireworks display in Grape Day Park has delighted young and old alike with its spectacular displays and wholesome family entertainment. It has become an intrinsic part of our shared community heritage and has been instrumental in encouraging patriotism and instilling a love of our great nation into the hearts of our children.

Pack a picnic, grab a blanket and head to Grape Day Park on July 4 for a fun-filled, star-spangled celebration!

Enjoy a variety of free entertainment, including musical performances, magicians, baton twirlers, children's arts projects, old-fashioned contests and, of course, fireworks. A variety of refreshments will be available for purchase.

Please note: BBQs, alcohol, pets, and tall chairs should not be brought to the park.

The event is generously sponsored by the Linden Root Dickinson Foundation and San Diego Gas & Electric, a Sempra Energy utility. The event is organized and sponsored by the American Legion Post 149; the California Center for the Arts, Escondido; the City of Escondido; and the Escondido History Center. Media sponsors are North County Times and KSON-FM.

The fireworks program also depends on your support. All donations, small or large, are needed and appreciated. Please mail your check to the American Legion, J.B. Clark Post 149, 230 Park Avenue, Escondido, CA 92025-1811.
