Many Economic Development requests involve questions that are geographic in nature.
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software by ESRI offers the ability to link spatial data (a place, business, or land feature) with information (employment, median HH income, or crime rates) to answer geographic questions. Any data with a geographic reference can be mapped and analyzed. The Escondido Economic Development Division uses GIS software to analyze geographic data, assist local business, and provide easy-to-understand mapping information.
