The National Passport Information Center is a centralized information office which:

• Provides general passport and travel information.
• Can answer inquiries on the status of passport applications in progress.
• Can provide assistance with problems or suspended applications.

The toll-free telephone service to the Information Center is 1-877-487-2778. For TDD (Telecommunication Device for the Deaf) users the number is 1-888-874-7793. Recorded information is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Operators are available to assist callers Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Eastern Standard Time, excluding federal holidays. E-mail may be accessed at npic@state.gov. Callers must be over 18 years of age.
