The Streets Division maintains streets, pavement, traffic signals, street signs, striping, and pavement legends, street signs, street sweeping, sidewalks, storm drains and drainage channels. The approximately 300 miles of streets and public right-of-way, and approximately 175 miles of storm drains and drainage channels are the single greatest asset the City owns and maintains. Replacement value is estimated at over $400,000,000.00; therefore, the City places the maintenance at a high priority level.

The planned schedule is that residential streets be swept approximately once every two weeks and commercial and downtown areas swept two times per week. The City currently operates three street sweepers.
