Volunteers who give willingly and freely of their time and talents have always been an important factor in the quality of life in Escondido. The City Council Awards Program is designed to recognize these exceptional individuals and groups who have made significant contributions to our community. They are honored at the Annual State of the City Address. This year’s State of the City meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at 8:30 a.m. at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido.
Nominations are now being solicited for awards in the following categories: Arts, Business, Community, Education, Historic Preservation, Public Safety and Youth. Please consider the people and groups you know who volunteer, and take time to nominate them for a City Council Award. To do so, please fill out and return a nomination form (with accompanying narrative) by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2015. A Sub-Committee of the City Council will then review all nominations and make its final selections.
