We Need Volunteers!

The overall race start of the Amgen Tour of California will take place on May 12, 2013. Whether you’d just like to help out on the day of the event, or have more time to commit to larger responsibilities, we need our community to pull together to make this major event a success.

Local Organizing Committee Volunteers

Hosting the Tour’s overall race start takes a lot of work. City of Escondido staff will oversee Amgen Tour of California activities in Escondido, but we can’t do it alone. If you’d like to play a bigger role in this exciting event, please contact Michelle Geller at 760-839-4587 or mgeller@escondido.org if you’d like more information about serving on an LOC.

Race Day Volunteer

We’ll also need between 400–500 volunteers for race day to act as course marshals and other race-related duties. Ancillary Events

To maximize the opportunities the Amgen Tour of California brings to Escondido, and to increase the experience for local residents, visitors, businesses and sponsors, we invite you to create special events surrounding the race. Ancillary events may include: An athletic wear fashion show, a family bike ride, a school assembly, neighborhood block parties and more.
