Escondido Technology Center

The City of Escondido Community Services Department is currently seeking volunteers or interns to work in the Escondido Technology Center.

Key Responsibilities:

• Register new computer users
• Monitor computer use activities in the Escondido Technology Center
• Administer computer and Internet use policies in a fair and equitable manner
• Interact with the public to assist them with basic computer use
• Able to administer judgment and discretion when interacting with the public

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher)

• Be adept with the use of Internet browsers, such as Internet Explorer and Internet search engines, such as Google or Bing

• Have strong customer service skills

• Be self-motivated and team-oriented

Hours:

• Work Schedule: variable Monday‑Thursday, prefer 2-hour minimum commitment

General Background

• The Escondido Technology Center is a new public-access facility located in the East Valley Community Center at 2245 East Valley Parkway
• Public hours of operation will be Monday-Thursday 12:00-6:00 p.m. (24 hrs./wk.)
• Center will open January 28, 2013
