Escondido, CA - Escondido Public Library invites adult readers to join the 2nd Tuesday Book Club meeting on May 9, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the Turrentine Room. This month’s selection is The Black Count: Glory, Revolution, Betrayal and the Real Count of Monte Cristo by Tom Reiss. Copies of the book are available for check out and may be reserved in the Library catalog at library.escondido.org.

Experience the riveting true story of Alexandre Dumas, the almost forgotten hero who   inspired such classics as The Count of Monte Cristo and The Three Musketeers. Born the son of a black slave, Dumas escaped bondage and was schooled as a sword fighting member of the French aristocracy. The group will discuss his humble beginnings and swashbuckling adventures.

2nd Tuesday Book Club will continue on June 13, 2017 for a group discussion of The Bazaar of Bad Dreams by Stephen King. Library programs are generously sponsored by Friends of the Escondido Public Library and are free to the public.
