Escondido, CA - Escondido Public Library invites adult readers to join the 2nd Tuesday Book Club meeting on April 11, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the Turrentine Room. This month’s selection is Circling the Sun by Paula McClain. Copies of the book are available for check out and may be reserved in the Library catalog at library.escondido.org.

Circling the Sun is a fascinating portrayal of Beryl Markham, a complex and strong-willed woman in 1920s Africa. An author and aviator, Beryl was a determined woman who wouldn’t let social conventions stand in the way of her achieving her dreams. This fictionalized biography is a New York Times bestseller full of surprises. Through the facilitated discussion readers may discover new perspectives and share impressions with other dedicated readers. The 2nd Tuesday Book Club always welcomes new and returning participants.

The 2nd Tuesday Book Club will continue on May 9, 2017 for a group discussion of The Black Count: Glory, Revolution, Betrayal and the Real Count of Monte Cristo by Tom

Reiss. Library programs are generously sponsored by Friends of the Escondido Public Library and are free to the public.
